Most women who find their way to this page have been thinking about it for a while. Not days. Months, sometimes years. They have looked at boudoir photographs online, felt something between curiosity and hesitation and then closed the tab. If that sounds familiar, this post is for you.

What boudoir photography actually is

Boudoir photography is intimate portraiture. It is somewhere between a portrait session and something more personal, more private. The images are made for you, not for a LinkedIn profile or a company website. They are about how you look when you are not performing for anyone.

In my work, boudoir means atmosphere, light and presence. Cinematic and restrained rather than explicit or heavily styled. I work with natural light from the roof windows of my attic studio in Anderlecht, supplemented by studio lights when needed. My photos tend toward black and white, though colour is always an option. What I am looking for in every session is the moment when you stop managing how you appear and simply be in front of the camera. That is where the real photos are.

Who it is for

Women who come to me for boudoir sessions are not a particular type. They are not all extroverted, not all perfectly comfortable in their bodies, not all naturally good in front of a camera. What they tend to have in common is that they are ready to stop hiding from themselves, even if only for an afternoon.

Some book around a milestone, a birthday, a separation, a significant transition. Some book because they have been watching from the outside for long enough and something has shifted. Some simply want to do something that is entirely for themselves, with no audience and no obligation to explain it.

What I am not the right fit for: heavily styled editorial shoots with lots of props and costumes and lingerie sets, photos that lean explicitly sexual, or sessions booked primarily because someone else thinks you should do it. The sessions that produce real work are the ones where you are genuinely curious about the experience for yourself.

What to expect

The session begins long before the camera comes out. We start with coffee (or tea), with the makeup artist doing her work, with music you have chosen, with conversation or comfortable silence, whichever feels right.

I work slowly and I do not rush. Most of you arrive with some tension in your shoulders and a certainty that you will not know what to do. Both of those things resolve on their own given enough time and the right kind of attention. I give direction throughout, not poses to copy but small, specific adjustments that move toward something true. I show you images during the session so you are not spending two hours imagining the worst version of yourself.

Somewhere in the middle of the session, something usually changes. The movements soften and you let it go. That is the moment I am working toward from the very beginning.

The session takes place in my attic studio in Anderlecht, Brussels. It is a small, private, minimalist space with a white cyclorama wall and natural light from both sides of the roof. It does not feel like a commercial studio. It feels like somewhere you can actually relax.

Privacy

Nothing from your session is published without your explicit consent. Not a cropped detail, not a behind the scenes moment, nothing. You decide what exists publicly and that conversation happens before the photoshoot. Some clients become part of my portfolio. Others have images that will never appear anywhere outside their private gallery. Both are completely welcome.

How to prepare

Bring clothing that makes you feel like yourself. That is the only real instruction. I send every client a preparation guide before the session that covers clothing in more detail, but the short version is: do not buy something new that you have never worn, do not bring something you think you should wear, bring something that already belongs to your world.

Makeup is included in the session. You do not need to arrive camera ready.

Pricing

The session fee is €249 and includes professional makeup. Images are €60 each, with a minimum selection of five. Most women take more. Final images are delivered in both colour and black and white in a private online gallery. Printed albums start from €300 and wall art from €250.

If you are curious

The easiest first step is simply to send a message. We can talk about what you are looking for, what the experience looks like in practice and whether it feels like the right fit.

Frequently asked questions

Is boudoir photography only for certain body types or ages? No. The experience is about being seen as you actually are. That has no age limit and no body type requirement.

Will my photos be shared publicly? Only with your explicit consent. Nothing is published, shared or used in my portfolio without your permission. You decide what exists publicly.

How much does boudoir photography cost in Brussels? The session fee is €249 and includes professional makeup. Images are priced at €60 each, with a minimum selection of five images. From there, you choose as many as feel right. Printed albums start from €300 and wall art from €250. Everything is delivered in a private online gallery.

Where is the studio located? My attic studio is in Anderlecht, Brussels and is easily reachable by public transport. It is a private, residential space, which means you will not be walking through a shared commercial building or passing other clients. I also photograph on location across Belgium when the project calls for it.

How long does a boudoir session take? A typical session is around three hours, including makeup. There is no rush. The pace is deliberately slow and the time includes settling in, makeup, the shoot itself and a first look at images on the camera during the shoot.

Do I need to have modelling experience? No. Most of you who come to me have never done anything like this before. Guidance is built into every part of the session. You do not need to arrive knowing what to do with your body or your face. That is my job.

Can I bring someone with me? You are welcome to bring a trusted friend or partner if it helps you feel more comfortable arriving. Once the session begins, most women prefer to be alone in the studio but we can discuss what works best for you beforehand.
